In an industry where circularity often comes at the cost of performance, RE&UP and Marchi & Fildi are challenging that trade-off head-on.
The two companies have announced a strategic partnership to co-develop a new generation of premium recycled cotton yarns, combining RE&UP’s cutting-edge textile-to-textile recycling technology with Marchi & Fildi’s deep-rooted expertise in high-quality yarn manufacturing.
Although many initiatives in the recycled space stop at proof-of-concept, this collaboration is built around industrial readiness. The partnership is currently in a pre-industrial phase, with ambitions to create scalable, high-performance materials that meet the needs of demanding textile applications – from fashion to furnishings.
For both companies, the message is clear: circularity and quality are no longer mutually exclusive.
“Partnering with Marchi & Fildi means joining forces with a company that shares our commitment to quality, innovation, and circular transformation. This collaboration allows us to push the boundaries of what’s possible with recycled cotton fibers and move one step closer to making Next-Gen yarns a scalable reality for the entire industry.” said Marco Lucietti, Head of Global Marketing and Communications at RE&UP.
It’s a timely move in an industry increasingly driven by regulation, supply chain transparency, and consumer demand for both performance and sustainability. As EU policies like the ESPR move toward enforcing recycled content and design-for-recyclability, partnerships like this are no longer a nice-to-have – they’re a blueprint for the future.
“The evolution of our yarns from recycled fibers requires continuous investment in technical expertise and advanced technologies. What truly makes the difference are synergies with partners like RE&UP, who share our vision of quality and circularity, opening new opportunities for joint development.” added Alberto Grosso, Business Development Manager at Marchi & Fildi.
